The Ultimate Outing:
Extreme Golf Challenge
What to bring
- Box lunch, hat or cap, bottled water
- Put all your personal items in the trunk of your car
- We will provide a putter, You will bring your own golf driver for the driving range challenge (Buzzard Cove can supply a driver if needed)
When You Arrive
- Each group will arrive at Buzzard Cove at 10 AM and proceed to their team’s registration desk.
- Each group will select a team captain and co-captain to organize the event,
- At the desk the designated team captain and his co-captain will hand out a numbered vest (bib), golf club, ball, and scoring card to each team member, then divide the teams into groups of 2, 3, or 4 players.
- All guests of the group will receive a colored wristband that identifies them with the party. Guests are allowed to watch the competition from the deck, or play mini golf on the opposite course.
- All players’ names and their vest number will be written down on a master score sheet.
- Then the teams as a group (Led by their captain and co-captain) will first walk to a designated place for a team photo. Then walk to a designated hole for the mini golf competition.
Mini Golf Competition
- When all the players are at their holes and ready to go, the Buzzard Cove coordinator fires the starter-pistol, and the competition is on!
- Each group of players will proceed from hole to hole until they reach the hole that they started from. (Start at hole #4, end at hole #4—NOTE:-play your last hole twice-it will count as hole # 18)
- *Remember to skip hole #18 as it will not return your ball.
- Once the groups are finished, team captains will be responsible for collecting all his players’ scorecards and vests and turn them in at the registration table.
- Team captains will then enter each player’s total score on the master sheet.
- Scores will be calculated by finding the average score among all players on a team (add all scores and divide by number of players)
Lunch Break!
Take your box lunch to beautiful Hinckley Lake's picnic area located at the boat rental area, overlooking the lake.Or You can rent a flat bottom boat called the ”Hinckley Queen” with a covered canvas top, table in the center, seating 8 persons, and tool around the 90 acre lake while enjoying your box lunch. Rental includes motor and life preservers—it’s a fun experience for land lubbers!
Driving Range Competition
- Team captains from each team will select another 4 players to play on the putting green.
- Winning team can decide if they want to shoot losing team with water balloons.
- Then, each selected player will receive a putter and 5 colored golf balls.
- In turn, each player from a team will stand at the near hole on the putting green and putt towards the hole in the middle.
- On a team scorecard, each player will write down the number of balls that went into the hole, or in the white target area.
- Captains will add up the total number of holes for their team.
Award Presentation
- Team with the lowest score will receive free mini golf pass
- Player or players with the lowest score
- Player with the highest score
- Player best dressed
- Buzzard Cove Mug Prize Packs
- “At Home” Putter, ball, and hole
- Free ice cream and hot dog
- 5 extra water balloons
The 2 team captains and co-captains will get together and determine the winners.
